Search
Engine Optimization is a web design art. In a perfect
world, not one byte of code is written prior to in depth
web design planning. You will find a lot of information on this site
about our web design process.
STEP
TWO: Setting Up Your Site Theme
You
have a list of keywords that are relevant to your site. That list
should also contain the number of searches in a given time period
for those terms.
Knowing
the keywords and the number of searches gives you a broad idea
of what you want your site to be. What is your KEI for those keywords?
KEI
stands for Keyword Effectiveness Index.
The KEI is a mathematical computation that uses the number of
people looking for a certain keyword and the number of websites
supplying information using that keyword.
26,000
competitors are better than 73 million! Now is the time to redefine
your niche a little. Do you remember the heading on our first page?
The title is Arkansas Web Design Specialists.
Statistics tell us that 25 persons use that search term EVERY DAY.
It's not humanly possible for us to add 25 new clients each day.
A lot
of websites using Arkansas web design in their keywords are
not located in Arkansas. Of course, that's not necessary when it comes
to doing business on the Internet, but there are a number of customers
who prefer to look you in the face from time to time.
So,
our KEI for Arkansas Web Design is a good one.
Now all we need to do is optimize our site better than the competition
AND develop a better marketing strategy. This is where our expertise
in online marketing adds great value.
Think
of this. You want your online business to be vibrant. You DO NOT
want your website shut down by the government. You DO NOT want
to pay a fine of any kind for violating government regulations.
Would you feel more comfortable hiring a web designer that
wrote the book on building a legal online business?
Now
you should take your KEI list and begin outlining your
website.
Take a look up the navigation links in the upper left portion of
this page. You will see the Home page and SIX CATEGORY
PAGES. Notice that all six categories fall within the
Web Design theme.
Each
Category Page contains links to other pages within the category.
Not only does it provide our potential customers more information about
what we do and how we do it, it
provides the search engine robots lots of food to digest.
Your
theme, therefore, contains a natural progression of information
for your site visitors that is easily found.
